Recovery is not just about staying sober. It is about becoming the person God created you to be.
Red Letter House exists to provide people recovering from addiction and other life-controlling issues a safe, structured home where they can rebuild their lives — emotionally, mentally, financially, and spiritually — and transition successfully back into their families, their work, and their communities.
We envision a generation of people set free from the dark tunnels that were their past — men and women who are not merely sober, but restored. Hungry for purpose, equipped with the tools to succeed, anchored in faith, and prepared to lead the next person out.
Red Letter House began with one man's experience of the tunnel. Our founder, Robert Peightal, knows firsthand the wreckage that addiction leaves behind — the broken relationships, the lost years, the financial ruin, the mental and emotional weight that doesn't lift simply because the drugs stop.
He also knows the way out. Years of recovery, experience in the field, and a foundation in faith have prepared him to walk alongside other men through the same dark places he has already passed through.
The name comes from the red letters of Christ — the words of Jesus that, in many Bibles, are printed in red. Matthew 6:33 anchors our work: "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." We believe that when a person pursues God first, the rest — provision, purpose, restoration — follows.
"I started Red Letter House because I was once in a dark tunnel, but then I found the light at the end of it. A light so bright that it demanded that I tell others about it."
Due to increasing demand for structured recovery housing, Red Letter House is actively expanding to open additional homes and serve more men and women seeking lasting recovery and stability. We're starting with one house in Dilworth, Minnesota — and building from there, one restored life at a time.
